Why are more and more vehicles driving around with only their rear license plate displayed? Is there some new law that I missed? Can I remove the plate off the front of my vehicles?
Good question. No, there is no new law. In Washington we still have to have both plates on our vehicle. The only exceptions, collector plates and motorcycles. Craig.

I live in an old house converted into an upstairs/downstairs duplex. Ever since the neighbors moved in, I can constantly smell marijuana they are smoking. Is there something that can be done legally or is it something I just have to put up with?
You need to contact whatever agency serves the area you live in and let them know about this. Crime Check may be the easiest for you, 456-2233. Craig.

what is the law for bright lights on the freeway with on comming traffic? I-90 between idaho and spokane wa
You have to turn your high beams off when you are within 500 ft of the approaching veh. I can't measure that while driving. Just base it off the vehicles coming at you and dim them before you think you may be affecting their sight. Craig.

I know that you are suppose to move over one lane or slow down on the freeway when an officer is on the side of the road, issuing a ticket with lights blazing. My question is, do you need to move over a lane when they are on the side of the road with a radar gun?
Great question. No, this is only when there is an emergency vehicle on the side of the road with emergency lights on assisting someone or issuing a ticket. Craig.

I am a homeowner in the Brentwood neighborhood and want to know is it legal for people to let there dogs run off leash at Brentwood Elem. ? We have a dog and keep our dog in our yard or on leash. But alot of people think the school is an"off leash dog park". Is this a law enforcement issue or a animal control issue?
Animal control issue. I would check with the school and see if this is allowed, maybe give them a heads up to put some signs out.

Hey deputy craig thanks for what you do.On a multi-lane road (two lanes each direction with additional left turn lanes and seperate signals)can you turn left with the turn lane light red while the remaining two lanes are green and no traffic in the oncomming lanes?
No. However, if you are at a red light on a 2-way rd you can make a left turn onto a one-way against a red light as long as there is not a sign that says no turn on red.

senario: I-90 Westbound Vantage hill, see red flashing lights on vehicle in the slow lane ( it was a fire truck) US???: middle lane doing speed limit. Question: can we pass the slower fire truck in the middle lane? or do we slow and not pass? or do we slow and move over to fast lane??? what is the legel protocol?
If I understand correct the truck in question is in the slow lane because it is traveling below the posted speed limit due to the hill. You can pass the truck in either the middle or passing lane. However, if the truck is stopped assisting someone you are required to move an entire lane over if you are able to. If there is a vehicle in the lane next to you and you can't move over, you are required to slow to a safe reasonable speed as you pass the truck. This help?

I live in the Spokane County. A lot of traffic has been redirected to my road (Wandermere) due to highway construction (north Spokane). It is like a freeway out here now. 45 mph is not enforced and appears to be only a suggestion. I assume it is under the Sheriff jurisdiction. Who do I call? Will it do any good. We have joggers, bikers, and walkers on this road. Much appreciated.
You came to the right spot. We are aware of the problem and our traffic unit will be trying to work that road as much as possible during construction.
